Kan. woman, teen injured after SUV rear-ends horse and buggy

LABETTE COUNTY —Two people were injured in a crash involving a horse and buggy on a Kansas Highway just after 8a.m. Thursday in Labette County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2023 Ford Escape driven by Landin Rayne Knickerbocker, 27, Neodesha, was eastbound on U.S. 400 two miles East of the U.S. 169 Junction.

The SUV rear-ended a Horse and Buggy that was halfway in the outside lane and shoulder. 

 EMS transported the driver of the buggy  35-year-old Elizabeth  Schwartz and her passenger 16-year-old Priscilla Schwartz both of Cherryvale to Labette County Health in  Parsons for treatment of serious injuries. Knickerbocker was not injured and properly restrained, according to the KHP.
