NWS: Tuesday storm in Kansas produced small tornado

RENO COUNTY—A strong storm that brought damaging winds, heavy rain and some hail to Kansas Tuesday night also produced a small tornado.

The National Weather Service rated the brief tree topping tornado an EF0. It hit the Turon area of Reno County just after 10:10p.m. with peak wind gusts of 80 miles per hours.

The path of the tornado was approximately a quarter mile wide with a maximum width of 275 yards, according to the National Weather Service.

There were no injuries reported.
