Glen Francis Warren

Kathleen Louise Wendland, age 59 passed away on Oct. 16, 2022, at the Pratt Regional Medical Center, Pratt, KS.  She was born on Oct. 20, 1962, at Westmoreland, KS., the daughter of Ralph Hugh and Jacquelyn Marie (Riley) Ballentine. 

 She graduated from Onaga High School in 1980, Hesston College in 1982 and Eastern Mennonite College in 1984.  She was a homemaker and later became an ordained minister, part of the ministry team at the Fathers House of Worship in Sun City, KS. 

 On Oct. 5, 1985, she married Brian Ernest Wendland at Mineral Spring, Manhattan, KS. 

 She is survived by her husband, Brian Wendland, mother, Jacquelyn Marie (Riley) Ballentine; two sons, Aaron Ernest (Kirsten) Wendland, Wavery, KS., Andrew Hugh (Amanda) Wendland, Soddy Daisy, TN; two daughters, Destiny Louise Wendland, Ft. Morgan, CO., Daniele Dawn (Jordan) Moshier, Goodland, KS; a sister, Bridget Ann Turner, Onaga, KS; five grandchildren, Holton James Moshier, Katrin Dawn Moshier, Brian Hugh Pyle-Wendland, Isabelle Ryan Holder and David Lee Dodd. 

Services were Oct. 25 and 26&nbsp;at Minnis Chapel, St. John, with Pastor Deitra Black and Charles Bissell presiding, and at Fancy Creek Church in NW Riley County, KS., with Pastor Sterling Hudgins and Bob Olson presiding. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to KREJ Radio, Medicine Lodge, KS., or the Fancy Creek Church in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS  67576.

Kathleen Louise Wendland

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we announce Donald E. 
Birzer, age 86, of Colby, KS, passed away on October 27, 2022. 
He was born in Brownell, Kansas, on January 23, 1936, to Frank and Eleanor (Rupp) Birzer. 
Don attended Brownell High School, went to the Army from 1954-56, 
stationed in Hanau Germany. After the military, he attended trade school
 for automotive body repair. He was in automotive body repair for over 
40 years and worked and owned Lyles Body shop for 30 years. 
On November 28, 1959, he was united in marriage with Betty Kraft at the 
St. Mary’s Catholic Church in McCracken, KS and from that marriage two 
beautiful living children were born, Mitchell and Staci. 
He was a current member of Sacred Heart Church, Colby, Kansas. After he 
sold Lyles Body Shop, he worked as a Storm Trooper at Farm Bureau for 15
 years and Pioneer Seed for 25 years. He was previously active in the 
American Legion and Knights of Columbus for many years. In his earlier 
years, he enjoyed farming. He was a true handyman/volunteer, enjoyed 
dancing, socializing, playing cards, and had a beautiful lawn and 
garden. 
Don is survived by his son, Mitch (Anita), Nortonville, KY; daughter, 
Staci (Kevin) Murray, Manhattan, KS; four living grandchildren, Justin 
(Allie) Murray, Wichita, KS, Bethany Murray of Wichita, KS, Danielle 
Birzer of Phoenix, AZ, and Jackson Birzer of Nortonville, KY and two 
great grandchildren, Hudson Murray and Cohen Murray. He will be truly 
missed by all that knew him. 
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty (Kraft); his daughter, 
Roxanne; his parents, Frank and Eleanor Birzer; three sisters, and a 
granddaughter, Ashley Murray. 
Visitation will be 5-7:00 p.m., with a vigil at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov.
 3, 2022, at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby. A funeral mass will be celebrated

Bonnie Kay Paris, 75, of Hutchinson, died October 27, 2022, at 
Hospice House. She was born September 13, 1947, in Goodland, to William 
and Irene (Murtz) Cape.

Bonnie enjoyed spending time with family and friends fishing, playing dice and cards, especially Rummy, and cold beer.

On February 22, 1963, she married Gary Paris Sr., in Denver, CO. He died September 17, 2010.

Survivors include: her daughter, Tina Dirksen (Steve) of Salina; 
daughter-of-the heart, Dody Woodring of Salina; grandchildren, Alicia 
Dirksen, Devon Dirksen, Shyanne Paris; great-grandchildren, Destany 
Dirksen, Tyson Robles, Taliyah Dirksen, Allie Dirksen, MacKenzie 
Dirksen, Gaven Dirksen; great-great-grandchildren, Dai’Sean Dirksen, 
Amiyah Dirksen, Arthur Bratton; sisters, Darlene and Virginia of Kansas 
City, MO; and many extended family members.

Bonnie Kay Paris

Patricia “Pat” Lois Bell, 80, passed away on Oct. 26, 2022, in 
Conroe, Texas. Born June 25, 1942, in Borger, Texas, to Herman Delbert 
and Lois (King) Crockett. They moved back to Morton, Texas, where her 
father became Cochran County Sheriff. That is where Pat attended school 
until the 7th grade. In 1954 Herman took a job in the oil 
field and moved the family to Ellinwood, Kan.&nbsp; 

On Dec. 23, 1958, she 
married Larry Ravenstien, she joined him in Fort Campbell, Ky., where he
 was stationed in the Army. Upon Larry’s Army discharge in 1966, they 
moved to Derby, Kan., with their 2 sons. Later moving back to Ellinwood,
 where Pat worked for Farmer’s Mutual Ins. On Oct. 23, 1978, Larry and 
her divorced. Pat then moved to Great Bend, Kan., where she worked for 
the Barton County Sheriff Dept. and Great Bend Petroleum Club, where she
 met Keith Bell, an avid golfer. Many may remember her singing the 
jingle “He’s a Write in Vote” campaigning for Gene Marks as a write-in 
vote, running for sheriff of Barton County — he won. She married Keith 
Bell on March 14, 1980, in Cimarron, Kan. Upon her and Keith’s 
retirement they became “Winter Texans” at River Bend Resort in 
Brownsville, Texas, later making that their permanent home for 23 years.

Mrs. Bell enjoyed playing mahjong, dominos, cards and was active 
in Ladies Golf League. She was very involved in community events at 
River Bend. One important event her friends from River Bend stated was 
at their annual Veterans Day celebration she lead the opening prayer. 
She had a very loving and spiritual caring heart, spreading that to many
 family and friends along her life’s journey.

Survivors include her sons; Kelly Ravenstien of Ark City, Kan., 
Scott (Gabe) Ravenstien of Great Bend, Kan., two step-daughters, Rhonda 
(Gary) Dobbs of Spring, Texas, Marisa (Doug) Deason of Tulsa, Okla., one
 step-son KB (Tammy) Bell of Great Bend, Kan.. Grandchildren; Justin 
Ward, Misty (Stephen) Ambrose, Michael (Rosa) Raventien, Zach Dettrick, 
Casey Dettrick and fiancé Brian Lundquist, Ryan (Nicole) Dobbs, Collin 
(Madison) Dobbs, Chelsea (Terry) Tansill, Suzanne (Mario) Montes, Alisha
 (Ryan) Markley, 16 great-children and 1 great great-grandchild on the 
way. A sister-in-law Judi Crockett, sister, Twila (Melvin) Birzer, 
brother Randy Crockett; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith, of 37 years, her
 parents, a brother Herman (Sonny) Crockett, and a step-daughter Monica 
Bell Reser.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A family burial will be at a later date.

Donald Eugene Birzer

Billie Jo Breit, age 79, of Pfeifer, Kansas, left this earth and peacefully entered heaven’s gate on October 26, 2022. She was born on June 4, 1943, in Russell, Kansas, to Donald and Esther (Peterson) Sellens.

She graduated from Russell High School.&nbsp;She later met and fell in love with Peter D. Breit in May of 1960. They married in Russell, KS the following year, October 21, 1961. From this union they were blessed with 3 children, Darren, Brett and Amelia (Aimee).

Billie was a homemaker for many years before getting into the workforce. She was an incredible chef and baker.&nbsp; Family and holiday dinners were always delicious and hold many special memories. She made every family gathering special.

She was also an amazing seamstress.&nbsp;She could make something out of nothing.&nbsp; She loved to sew, making anything from clothes to quilts and bridal dresses. She always worked hard, no matter what she was doing.&nbsp; She always made sure that her family was taken care of.&nbsp; Not a day passed when we ever doubted the love she had for her family.

Billie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Babe Breit of Hays. Her daughter and son-in-law, Aimee and Roger Konrade of Gorham, Pete and Billie wished for grandchildren and were blessed with a grandson, Dayne Breit of Hays, who was their pride and joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her first born, Darren Breit; brother, Bob Sellens; sister, Donita Seirer; and daughter-in-law, Deborah Rupp.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, October 31, 2022 at 10 AM at Holy Cross Catholic Church - Pfeifer, Kansas - Inurnment will follow the services in the parish cemetery.

Memorial Visitation will be Sunday, October 30, 2022, from 6 PM to 8 PM with a combined parish vigil and rosary service at 7 PM at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 2509 Vine Street, Hays, Kansas 67601 and from 9 AM to service time at the church on Monday.

Ronald “Ron” Legleiter, age 77, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022, in Overland Park. Ron was born August 9, 1945, in Hays, Kansas, to Julius and Olivia (Befort) Legleiter. Ron was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Military Academy. On April 19, 1965, he married Helen (Gottschalk) Legleiter in Hays. She preceded him in death on August 31, 2015. Ron worked for UPS where he drove a semi for over 25 years.&nbsp; He also managed their short-term disability fund.&nbsp; He was actively involved with the Knights of Columbus, enjoyed mowing at the City of Overland Park golf course after retiring from UPS, golfing, spending time with his grandkids - and rarely missed any of their activities and sporting events, and he enjoyed listening to polka music. He was a US Army veteran serving during peacetime and he was a member of Ascension Catholic Church in Overland Park. Gloria Ann Heikes, 87, died October 24, 2022, at Kenwood View in 
Salina, Kansas. She was born August 11, 1935, to Charles Earl and Winnie
 Neta (Emmons) Personett, in Lenora, Kansas. She married Donald E. 
Heikes April 10, 1955, in Lenora, Kansas. To this union three children 
were born:  a daughter Neva and two sons Kevin and Bryce.

Gloria
 was preceded in death by her parents and her son Kevin. Those left to 
mourn her passing include her husband, Donald E. Heikes, of the home in 
Lenora; her daughter Neva Heikes of Salina, Kansas; her son Bryce Heikes
 of Mexico; and a granddaughter Serina Heikes.

A
 funeral service was held Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the Lenora 
Community Center with burial following in Lenora South Cemetery, Lenora.

On Tuesday October 25, 2022, Charles Dewain May, age 90, beloved Dad, 
Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Brother, Uncle and friend to many passed away in
 Salina, Kansas surrounded by family.

Charles was born to Maude Della (Fink) and Harry Clay May in Codell, Kansas on July 8, 1932.

He
 was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Navy as 
an&nbsp;Aviation Machinists Mate 3rd Class. Following his honorable 
discharge, he married Bernita May (Bates) on June 19, 1955, in Lucas, 
Kansas.&nbsp; Charles then attended Kansas State University where he received
 a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and went on to a full career
 as a Civil Engineer earning his Professional Engineering License along 
the way.&nbsp;One of the&nbsp;biggest joys in his career was the opportunity to 
share his knowledge, mentor and teach others.  He taught Civil 
Engineering Technology at Kansas Technical Institute early in his career
 and he gave back to his profession post retirement by teaching 
Certified Inspector Training (CIT) at Kansas State University Salina 
campus for several years.

Charles was an avid 
woodworker.&nbsp; Following retirement, he spent countless hours perfecting 
his craft in his shop and loved to share his woodworking talents. Many 
who knew him have cherished works that he created and gifted over the 
years. Time spent with his family and especially his grandchildren was 
the absolute light of his life as he spent many days traveling to watch 
their activities over the years.

Charles was a 
dedicated Mason with a 60+ year membership of the Masonic Lodge of 
Marion, Ks where he achieved the rank of 32nd degree. He was also an 
active Shriner in Salina, Kansas in his younger years.

Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife, Bernita; father, Harry Clay, his mother, Maude, 3 sisters and 5 brothers.&nbsp;

He
 is survived by his daughters, Traci Lamar (Mike) of Raleigh, North 
Carolina, Sally Crawford (Rod), of Salina, Kansas; son, Chuck May 
(Marianne), of Wichita, Kansas; his 6 grandchildren, Morgan (Erica), 
Charles (Fatima), Trey (Lydia), Paige, Rhiana, Robby, and 4 great 
grandchildren, Emerson, Ellie, Zoey and Eva;&nbsp;his brother, Bob May of 
Hays, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews.

A 
Celebration of Life and Memorial Service will be held on Friday November
 11, 2022, at 11:00 am at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home in Salina, 
Kansas. Family burial to follow at the Lucas Cemetery in Lucas, Kansas.

Leonard Joseph “Butch” Stos, 77, died October 27, 2022, at his home 
in Otis, Kansas.&nbsp; He was born April 25, 1945, in Great Bend, Kansas, the
 son of Leonard Valentine and Helen Marie (Budig) Stos. He graduated 
from Otis Rural High School in 1963 and later earned his mechanic 
certification from Vo-Tech School in Kansas City.

Butch then served in the United States Army as a motor sergeant, 
stationed in Korea and then Vietnam from 1965 to 1968.&nbsp; He worked as a 
mechanic at Gibson, Titus &amp; Stafford and also owned Stos Radiator in
 Great Bend for many years.

He is survived by his wife Kim Ann Stos of the home; siblings, 
Karolyn (Charles) Schaffer of La Crosse, Debra Stos of Newton, Randy 
(Heather) Stos of Hoisington, and Tim (Lynette) Stos of Olmitz; father 
and mother-in-law, Stan &amp; Bi Hannigan, and sister-in-law, Kim Le 
(Tom) Rebein, all of Great Bend; seven nieces and nephews and many great
 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with family to greet

grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom kept her busy and she loved

Kenny Applegate of Hutchinson, KS; grandchildren, Natasha, Nathan,

Richard
 Lee Doyle, age 81, entered into rest on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 
the Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas.&nbsp; He was born on December 24,
 1940, in Hays, Kansas, to Ernest and Zella (McKim) Doyle.

He was a 1958 graduate of Belle Plaine High School, Belle Plaine, Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

On August 12, 1962, he married Martha “Marty” Broyles in Webber, Kansas.&nbsp; She preceded him in death on December 23, 2016.

Richard
 received his Bachelor’s degree in music from Kansas State University. 
While at KSU, Rich and Marty participated in the Kansas State Marching 
Band, where they met.&nbsp; He went on to receive his Master’s degree in 
Mathematics, also from Kansas State University.

Rich
 served many years working as a fireman for the Railroad and then in the

Roy A. Wright, age 73, passed away on 
Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at the Columbus Community Hospital in 
Columbus, Nebraska.&nbsp; He was born on December 31, 1948 , in Logan County,
 Kansas, the son of William Clifford and Margaret Idella Russell Wright.
 A lifetime resident of Scott County, Kansas, Roy was a farmer, 
mechanic, and ranch &amp; feed yard hand.

He was a member of the Pyramid View Church in Logan County, Kansas.

On March 13, 1971, he married Rose M. Wilson in Leoti, Kansas.&nbsp; She survives.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Wright of Scott City, Kansas, Two 
Daughters - Sara L. Morlan of Scott City, Kansas, Sherry Wright of 
Oklahoma, One Daughter in Law - Kim Wright of Scott City, Kansas, Two

Anita Louise Patton, 66, of Russell, Kansas, died on Friday, October 21, 2022, at her home in Russell.

Anita grew up in Rice, Ellsworth and Russell counties and graduated 
from Lucas High School in 1973.&nbsp; She earned an associate’s degree in 
accounting from Barton County Community College.&nbsp; Her other studies 
included Emergency Management Technician and was an EMT for many years.&nbsp;
 Anita worked as a cashier at Sunflower Bank in Russell and later in the
 office at Russell County Highway Department for 22 years, retiring in 
June of this year.&nbsp; As well as her full-time employment Anita worked 
part-time jobs including city clerk for the City of Dorrance, clerk for 
Victor Bros. Auction and Reality and for the American Legion of 
Dorrance.&nbsp; 

She was a member of the American Legion Post #334 Auxiliary, 
PYW-EHU, Dorrance 4 Wheelers and the High Rocky Mountain Riders.&nbsp; Anita 
was a dependable helper for many events of the area, enjoying many 
friendships.&nbsp; Most of all she enjoyed spending time with brothers, 
sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Surviving family include her brothers Allan Patton (Annette Hoover) 
of Chase, Kansas, Dale Patton and wife Dana of Wichita, Kansas and 
Donald Patton and wife Susan of Brookfield, Wisconsin; sisters Janet 
Mathews and husband Philip of Hutchinson, Kansas and Patti Soldan of 
Salina, Kansas and sister in-law Marsha Patton of Great Bend, Kansas.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Carl Patton.

Barbara A. George, 89, of Salina, passed away on 
Wednesday October 26, 2022, at Paramount Health Care in Newton, KS.&nbsp; She 
was born March 27, 1933, in Plainville, KS to George (Bud) and Ruth 
Johnson.&nbsp; She married Leon George June 1, 1951, and they celebrated 50 
years of marriage before his death in April 2002. 
Barbara was a very busy homemaker raising their six children and after 
her youngest started school she entered the workforce in 1970 in the 
dietary department at the former Asbury Hospital.&nbsp; Barbara retired in 
1985 and she and Leon spent their retirement years traveling in their 
RV, fishing and camping.&nbsp; Most of all, she loved spending time with her 
children and their growing families.&nbsp; Barbara was a proud member of 
Daughters of the American Revolution.&nbsp; She was very active the past 20 
years in TOPS and was Leader of her club for several consecutive years. 
She attended the First United Methodist Church and was a faithful 
Meals-on-Wheels volunteer for over 10 years. 
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leon; son, Steven; and sisters EveElda Johnson and Georgina Mulkey. 
She is survived by her children Debra (Bob) Klein, Karin (Steve) Ashton,
 Stephanie (Don) Lentz, Shara McMichael and Lonnie George; 16

Barbara A. George

Morris Dale Lyon, son of Fay and Ethel Spurrier Lyon, was born 
November 5, 1930, on the family farm north of Athol, Kansas.  He passed 
away Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at SunPorch of Smith County at the age
 of 91.

Dale was baptized June 22, 1958, and was 
confirmed into faith on June 22, 1958, as an adult at Zion Lutheran 
Church, north of Athol, Kansas.  He remained an active member of First 
Saint John Lutheran Church in Kensington, Kansas.  Dale attended rural 
elementary school and graduated Athol High School in May of 1949.

On
 April 5, 1952, Dale married Dolores Bohm at the American Lutheran 
Church in Smith Center, Kansas.  To this union four children were born: 
Linda, Cody, Teresa, and Kelly.  After serving in the United States 
Marine Corps, Dale and Dolores returned to Smith County to farm.  Dale 
was involved with the Farmers Union at the state level for many years.  
Dale was also on the Board of the Northwest Kansas Area Agency on Aging.
  He was a dedicated father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and 
enjoyed the many family celebrations at the farm.

Preceding
 him in death were his wife Dolores, brothers Lloyd Sloniker, Dean, 
Arven and sister-in-law Genelda, Eldon, sister Wilma Lewis and 
brother-in-law Kenneth Lewis, brothers-in-law Russell Bridgewater, and 
Paul Eller.  Great grand granddaughters Emma Jo and Cora Jo Hunter.

Survivors
 include daughter Linda and husband Dennis Hommon, son Cody and wife 
Paula Lyon, daughter Teresa and husband Galen Arment, and son Kelly and 
wife Brigette Lyon. Grand children include Tracy (Alicia) Hommon, Tim 
(Stephanie) Hommon, Melissa (Stacey) Colby, Kaid Hommon, Becky (Kent) 
Allard, Anita Lyon, Matt Lyon, Brian (Angela) Arment, Lacy (Matt)

Linda, Cody, Teresa, and Kelly. After serving in the United States 
Marine Corps, Dale and Dolores returned to Smith County to farm. Dale 
was involved with the Farmers Union at the state level for many years. 
Dale was also on the Board of the Northwest Kansas Area Agency on Aging.
 He was a dedicated father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and 
enjoyed the many family celebrations at the farm.Preceding
 him in death were his wife Dolores, brothers Lloyd Sloniker, Dean, 
Arven and sister-in-law Genelda, Eldon, sister Wilma Lewis and 
brother-in-law Kenneth Lewis, brothers-in-law Russell Bridgewater, and 
Paul Eller. Great grand granddaughters Emma Jo and Cora Jo Hunter.Survivors
 include daughter Linda and husband Dennis Hommon, son Cody and wife 
Paula Lyon, daughter Teresa and husband Galen Arment, and son Kelly and 
wife Brigette Lyon. Grand children include Tracy (Alicia) Hommon, Tim

Allard, Anita Lyon, Matt Lyon, Brian (Angela) Arment, Lacy (Matt)

(Lakin) Lyon. Great grandchildren: Clara, Elsie, Ezra, and Maggie

George&nbsp;V.&nbsp;Dinkel, age 73, formerly of Brownell, Kansas, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022, at his home in Victoria, Kansas.

He was born September 7, 1949, in Hays, Kansas to Victor J. and Juliana M. (Rajewski). &nbsp;He married Velma&nbsp;(Unrein) on January 8, 1972, in Hays, Kansas.

He was a truck driver for National Carriers for over 20 years, and&nbsp;also was a farmer. &nbsp;He was a 1967 graduate of Ellis High School and was&nbsp;a&nbsp;member of Christ The King Catholic Church&nbsp;of WaKeeney, Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was a veteran of the US Army and&nbsp;moved to Victoria in the spring of this year&nbsp;from Brownell, Kansas.

Survivors include his wife Velma Dinkel, of the home; his children, John Dinkel and Chris Dixon, St. John’s, FL; Erin Rupp and&nbsp;husband Eugene, Victoria, KS; James Dinkel and wife, Annetta, Brownell, KS;&nbsp;his sisters, Judy Augustine and husband, Jeff, Hays, KS; Denice Fuller and husband, Mike, Concordia, KS; his grandchildren, Jacob Dinkel; Tyler Dinkel; Ethan Rupp; Emma Rae Rupp; his step grandchildren, Morgan Dixon; Bailee Dixon; Jacob Dixon; Andrew Rupp; Hillary Rupp; Amanda (Rex) Rhorer; Rondi Dysinger; Richie (Ashley) Dysinger; his step great grandchildren, Adalynn Rhorer; Jase Rhorer; and Mia Dysinger.

George V. Dinkel

James Wayne Richardson, 84, passed away on October 26, 2022, at his 
home in Great Bend, Kan. He was born on August 30, 1938, in Stafford, 
Kan., to Everett and Irene (Bates) Richardson. On October 09, 1960, he 
married Carolyn Allison in Stafford, Kan. She survives.

Coming from Colorado Springs, Colo., James was a Great Bend resident 
for the past 7 years. He was a man of great faith – being a member of 
many churches during his time in Colorado, including Security Christian 
and United Methodist Church – and spread that faith through his work in 
different church leadership roles through the years as well as doing 
outreach and prison ministry through Kairos for over 20 years. James was
 also a life-long racer, having been part of the start of the SRCA 
dragstrip and its maintenance, enjoying circle track racing, and racing 
at Pikes Peak Hill Climb. He was also a dedicated Boy Scout in his 
childhood, later serving as a Boy Scout leader for some of his sons.

Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, J.D. Richardson 
of Great Bend, Kan., Bradley (Sandra) Richardson of Peyton, Colo., and 
Marc Richardson of Great Bend, Kan.; five grandchildren, Heather Werner,
 Savannah Richardson, Devian McDowell, Dorian McDowell, and Darisha 
McDowell; and four great-grandchildren, Brittany and Gage Werner, and 
Mia and Dominic McDowell. He was preceded in death by his parents and a 
sister, Bonnie Gittins.

Visitation will take place from Noon to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 
November 1, 2022, at Bryant Funeral Home, with family receiving guests 
from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place at 10:00 
a.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Encounter Church, with Pastor 
Jake Newman presiding. Interment will follow at Stafford Cemetery. 


Memorials have been designated to the Stafford County Museum, SRCA 
Dragstrip, or Kairos Prison Ministry, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.

David Betzen, 78, retired computer programmer and co-owner of Ann's Fashions, died Tuesday, October 25, 2022. 

Rosary will be at 6:30 pm, Sunday, October 30, 2022. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Monday, October 31, 2022, both at Church of the Magdalen Catholic Church. 

Preceded in death by his parents, Leo Betzen and Rosina Staab; brother, Alan Staab. 

Survived by his wife, Glenda Betzen; daughter, Lisa Reiter; sons, Curtis (Amely) Betzen, John (Shelley) Betzen; 7 grandchildren; brother, Wayne Staab; sister, Sheryl (Jon) Markwell.
