Pauline Faye (Breeden) Goeken, 107, Lenora, Kansas, passed away 
February 12, 2023, at the Andbe Home in Norton, Kansas. She was born 
January 25, 1916, in Lenora to Rudolph and Gladys (Martin) Breeden. Rudy
 died at the age of 23 of Influenza Meningitis in November of 1918, 
leaving his two-year-old daughter, Pauline, and six-month-old son, Jack.
 Pauline and Jack were raised by Rudy’s brother Orville Breeden and his 
wife Myrtle Conklim Breeden. Pauline attended a country school until age
 ten when the family moved into Lenora. She graduated from Lenora Grade 
and Lenora High School.

On May 9, 1936, Max Goeken and 
Pauline were joined in marriage at the Methodist Church in Salina, 
Kansas. They lived in Salina, Colorado Springs and Fort Morgan, Colorado
 until moving to a farm near Edmond.  In 1948 the couple and their three
 sons: Max, James, and Ricky moved from the farm into Lenora. Once 
Pauline lived in town, she busied herself running a coffee shop and 
catering weddings for many years. She lived in the same home until her 
death.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband Max
 Goeken; her two sons Max Goeken and Ricky Goeken; and two grandsons. 

 
Survivors left to cherish her memory are her son James B. “Jim” Goeken 
of Lenora; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; twelve 
great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great grandchild.

Pauline’s notes she left these thoughts for us, “I want to thank all of 
you who have blessed my life with flowers, words, and deeds in times 
gone by and especially to the many bouquets of flowers Jim has given 
me.”

John Craig Young, age 58, former Hays, Kansas, resident, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2023, at the Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, Kansas.

He was born March 14, 1964, in Hays, Kansas, to Edgar Batson and Betty Lee (Wallerstedt) Young.

John was a bartender at the HOME Party Club in Hays for a number of years. &nbsp;He grew up in Hays, was a graduate of Hays High School, attended the First United Methodist Church in Hays, and moved to Salina in &nbsp;2009. &nbsp;John enjoyed his friends, and was a good kind-hearted caring person.

Survivors include his brothers, Willian L. Young&nbsp;and wife, Francine, Saida, TX;&nbsp;Robert K. Young, Salina, KS; Walter Benjamin&nbsp;Young, Colby, KS; his sisters, Karen Keevert&nbsp;and husband, Gary, Enterprise, AL;&nbsp;Kristin Tardif&nbsp;and husband, Michael, Fort Smith, AR;&nbsp;his sister-in-law, Karen Young, Herford, AZ;&nbsp;a&nbsp;number of&nbsp;nieces, and nephews.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Chris Anthony Gottschalk of Hays, 
Kansas, passed away in his home Tuesday, February 14, 2023.&nbsp; He was born 
in Manhattan, Kansas, on May 18, 1959, to Cecil and Dorothy (Befort).&nbsp; 
Chris graduated from TMP in 1977. On November 17, 1979, he married 
Krista Leiker at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hays.

Chris worked in the oil field for most 
of his career. Through a life spent on the wells, he made life-long 
friends and considered many in his cohort his extended family.&nbsp; He 
leaves behind a lasting legacy in Kansas oil, notable both for his 
accomplishments in the industry and for those whose lives he touched.

Chris lived life to its fullest. As a 
lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan, he was thrilled to watch his team win 
the Super Bowl this year.&nbsp; In true Chris fashion, he enjoyed the game 
surrounded by family and friends while hosting the best gameday party in
 town.&nbsp; His love of life was only outweighed by his generosity toward 
others, a trait for which he will be well-remembered.

He was actively involved with Thomas 
More Prep-Marian serving as the Vice President of the Alumni board.&nbsp; 
From the sideline to the board room, Chris was a devoted supporter of 
TMP. Few things brought him as much as joy as his years spent watching 
his kids and grandkids participate in all of their activities.&nbsp; He was a
 member of St. Joseph Church, a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus, #4166, 
Schoenchen, and the Friday Morning OPEC Group “Oil Producers of Ellis 
County”.

Chris is survived by his wife Krista 
Gottschalk, his 3 children Tyler Gottschalk (Megan) of Hays,&nbsp; Luke 
Gottschalk (Jessica) of Houston, Texas, and Katelyn Burkman (Nate) of 
Ellicott City, Maryland; 5 siblings, Gregg Gottschalk (Patricia) of 
Hays, Galen Gottschalk of Hays, Troy Gottschalk (April) of Westminster, 
Colorado, Jan Meade (Joe) of The Colony, Texas, and Becky Serri (Andy) 
of Sarasota, Florida; and 8 Grandchildren, Teagan Gottschalk, Adilyn 
Gottschalk, Jonah Gottschalk, Remington Gottschalk, Lily Gottschalk, 
Miles Gottschalk, Emerson Burkman, and Donovan Burkman.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a God-child Shane Gottschalk, and his father-in-law Don Leiker.&nbsp;

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday, February 17, 2023, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Hays.

Visitation will be Thursday 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM at the church with a&nbsp;combined rosary and parish vigil will be 7:00 PM.

Carissa Mary (Beilman) Gray, age 37, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023. &nbsp; She was born on September 4, 1985, in Hays, Kansas, to Gene and Celina (Walters) Beilman.

She was a homemaker,&nbsp;and&nbsp;attended Hays High School. &nbsp;Carissa enjoyed making&nbsp;bierocks,&nbsp;baking the girls their birthday cakes, listening to music and dancing. &nbsp;She loved bird watching, cats, firepit nights, the color green, going for drives,&nbsp;and tire burnouts. &nbsp;Most of all loving her Three Beautiful Girls.

Brent Wayne Nelson, 68, of Falun, KS, died peacefully February 9, 
2023, of throat cancer at Hospice House, Hutchinson, with his older 
brother by his side. He returned to the earth shrouded in his favorite 
Pendleton wool blanket February 13, 2023, in a green burial at Heart 
Land Prairie Cemetery, New Cambria, Kansas.

Brent was the son of Darald (Mannie) Nelson and Ruth (Dolly) Nelson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Darald (Mannie) Nelson.&nbsp; 
Brent is survived by: his mother, Ruth (Dolly) Nelson of Bethany Home, 
Lindsborg; brothers, Edwin (Elizabeth) of Walpole, MA and Ward of 
Smolan, KS; adopted daughter, Alyssa Gaede of Colby; grandchildren, 
Daniel, Mali and Maja Crawford; nephews, Erick Nelson of Portland, OR, 
Mark Nelson of Honolulu, HI, Jon Nelson of Providence, RI; niece, Anna

developed several patents for seed planting delivery systems. In 
addition, Brent’s marksmanship with handguns gained him national 
rankings and recognition. Native American culture was a passion 
throughout his life that culminated in constructing a Lakota Sweat Lodge
 and conducting ceremonies on the family farm.

Spiritual, creative, insightful, brilliant and kind, Brent listened 
to a different drummer and was a source of wisdom for those who had the 
pleasure of knowing him.

Sharon Christine Schwemmer passed away peacefully at her home in Lucas on February 14, 2023.

She was born November 9, 1950, in Russell, KS to Melvin &amp; Irene Hendershott.  She attended school in Natoma, Kansas.

She married Timothy Schwemmer on December 30, 1988, in Paradise, Kansas, and they moved to Lucas in 1989.

Sharon
 owned and operated the Hair Cottage in Lucas, Kansas, until her 
retirement in 2000.  After her retirement she worked for the Lucas 
Nursing Home and the Lucas Public Library.

Sharon 
enjoyed working in her garden and creating butterfly habitats.  She 
regularly attended the Lucas Methodist Church.  She will be remembered 
for her strong faith, her kindness, and her gentle spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Randy Ray Hendershott.

She
 is survived by her husband of 34 years Timothy; children Brian (Brandi)
 Angel of Paradise, KS, Travis (Natalie) Angel of Indianapolis, IN, 
Andrea Herreman of Oakley, KS; a sister Rhonda (Glen) Strecker of 
Overland Park, KS; a brother Ron (Lisa) Hendershott of Hays, KS;

Kay Lyn Dumler Dinkel, 67, passed away Wednesday, February 15th, 2023, at her home in rural Russell Kansas surrounded by her family.&nbsp;

Kay was born March 12, 1955, in Russell to Carl A. Dumler and Florence E. (Keil) Dumler. She lived her entire life in&nbsp;Russell and&nbsp;graduated from Russell High School in the Class of 1973. She married her forever best friend and love, Bryan on August 10, 1974. They were very proud parents of Brent and Todd. They were the absolute&nbsp;pride and joy&nbsp;of their lives. Kay and Bryan were involved in all of the activities that the boys took part in, and Kay often said that those boys, now young men, fathers and husbands, were the greatest and proudest accomplishment of her life.&nbsp;

This union also brought them four wonderful&nbsp;grandchildren:&nbsp;Braden, Jordyn, Brooklynn and Preston Dinkel. Kay cherished and loved being a grandmother, because she never really had the opportunity to have grandparents in her life, as they passed when she was very young. So, she tried her best to make the most of being a&nbsp;grandmother and&nbsp;being involved in their lives as well.&nbsp;

In her spare time, Kay served as a Den mother for local Cub Scout groups, was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church Altar Guild and taught Sunday School. She also served as a County Board Member for the Russell Regional Hospital, and on the Kansas Center for Assisted Living (KCAL) Board.&nbsp;

Kay was actively involved in the Healthcare industry in and around Russell for over 40 years. She earned her Associates Degree in Health Information Technology in 2001 from Hutchinson Community College, and her Bachelors Degree in Organizational Management and Leadership in 2004 from Friends University. She loved her healthcare colleagues, and especially the patients and residents who touched her life. She always tried her best to be a good friend, co-worker, family member and citizen.&nbsp;

Kay loved her farm and animals,&nbsp;raising oak trees,&nbsp;and was happiest and complete when she and Bryan built their new home on the farm in 2021. They worked side by side together to make it a loving family home.&nbsp;

Kay is survived by her husband Bryan&nbsp;Dinkel&nbsp;of the home; son Brent Dinkel wife Stacy, and children Braden and Jordyn of Manhattan, KS; and son Todd Dinkel wife Andrea, and children Brooklynn and Preston of Hays, KS.&nbsp;Her surviving family also includes sisters Jean&nbsp;Naegele, Rita Forsyth, Jody Myers and brother Carl&nbsp;Dumler&nbsp;Jr.&nbsp;

A celebration of Kay’s life will be held in Russell, date and time yet to be determined.

Franklin Charles Anderson was born May 28, 1964, in Imperial, NE to 
Teddy Dean and Carolyn Kay (Roschewski) Anderson. Frank grew up in the 
Wauneta area. Frank attended Wauneta Public Schools. Frank purchased his
 first home in Hamlet, Nebraska and lived there until 2017 when he sold 
that property and moved back to the Anderson family farm where he grew 
up 5 miles east of Wauneta, where they had a hog operation farrowing 
hogs. Daily chores of feeding and watering hogs never bothered Frank. 
 Frank’s love for trucking was inevitable. Frank worked for Hinz 
Trucking Company out of Elm Creek, NE for many years. He drove many 
miles over the years going from coast to coast and seeing a lot of the 
countryside. He took it very seriously; it was important to him that the
 truck was running properly. He talked about the many deadlines he had 
to meet. Once ending the coast-to-coast trucking career, he worked for 
many ag related companies such as local coops taking care of the local 
farmers. In the last several years Frank drove trucks locally for the 
area farmers and helped with their farming operations. The 
past couple of years his love for taking care of his Rhode Island Red 
Chickens was his treasure, spoiling them by buying them special feed and
 treats continually. Frank enjoyed get-togethers, whether it 
was with relatives, friends or business folks. He had a great love for 
joking and teasing his great nieces and nephews. Frank passed away early Tuesday morning, February 14, 2023, at the Chase County Community Hospital. Frank was 58 years of age. 
 Frank was preceded in death by his parent’s Ted and Caroyln 
(Roschewski) Anderson his grandparent’s Andy and Verna (Samuelson) 
Anderson, William and Hilda (Fortkamp) Roschewski. Uncles, Harold (Peco)

Norma Rae (Worman) Faelber, 92, passed Sunday, February 12, 2023.

She was born to Marvin and Sylvia (Parson) Worman on December 5, 1930, in Goodland, Kansas.

She
 lived most of her life in Gypsum, Kansas.  She graduated from Gypsum 
High School and married Dale C. Faelber, June 5, 1949.  She began 
painting at age 14 and has art displayed in Gypsum City municipal 
buildings.  She was a 4H Club knitting leader.  In 1994, was honored 
“Wife of the Year” by Kansas Land Improvement Contractors Association 
and along with Dale received Certificate of Appreciation for 55 years of
 Service.  She also enjoyed traveling and was an avid photographer.

She
 was preceded in death by parents, brother, Marvin (Jack) Worman, 
brother in-law, Jim Hall, in-laws, George and Mary (Hobson) Faelber.

Survived
 by her husband; daughters, Barbara (Roger) Messenger, Carol (Roger) 
Schmidt, Diane Faelber; son, Gary (Deb) Faelber; sisters, Pat (Dwight)

Norma Rae Faelber

Walter Dechant, 96, Hays, died Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at HaysMed.

He was born April 13, 1926, in Antonino,
 the son of Joseph and Anna (Speier) Dechant.&nbsp; On September 30, 1947, he 
was united in marriage to Marie Antoinette Feltis in Hays, and they 
celebrated 64 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on 
December 25, 2011.&nbsp; Walter was a farmer, owned and operated Dechant Oil 
Company, and enjoyed his work as an oilfield pumper and producer.&nbsp; His 
memberships included St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Schoenchen Third 
Degree Knights of Columbus Council #4166, and the Bishop Cunningham 
Fourth Degree Assembly #282.&nbsp; He loved bowling, playing in many card 
clubs and dancing with Marie, and the extensive traveling they did 
together.

Survivors include his son: Steven 
Dechant and wife Mary Kay of Hutchinson, three daughters: Debra Rippe of
 Aurora, CO, Judith Kisner and husband Mark of Sugar Land, TX, and Glori
 Dechant of Olathe, twelve grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 
numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his 
parents, wife Marie, son-in-law: Ron Rippe, grandson: Kenon Lane Rippe, 
three brothers: William, Gene, and Richard Dechant, and seven sisters: 
Josephine Legleiter, Alice Legleiter, Marcella Zimmerman, Adeline 
Zimmerman, Eleanor King, Stella VonFeldt, and Mabel Riedel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 
10:00 am on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church 
with Fr. Richard Daise officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow in St Joseph 
Cemetery.&nbsp; Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 on Friday and from
 9:00 am until 9:45 on Saturday, all at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral 
Home.&nbsp; The Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus will stand honor guard from
 5:30 pm until 6:30, a vigil service will be at 6:30, followed by a 
combined Third and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus rosary, all on 
Friday at the funeral home.&nbsp;

 </figure>Walter Dechant, 96, Hays, died Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at HaysMed.He was born April 13, 1926, in Antonino,
 the son of Joseph and Anna (Speier) Dechant.&nbsp; On September 30, 1947, he 
was united in marriage to Marie Antoinette Feltis in Hays, and they 
celebrated 64 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on 
December 25, 2011.&nbsp; Walter was a farmer, owned and operated Dechant Oil 
Company, and enjoyed his work as an oilfield pumper and producer.&nbsp; His 
memberships included St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Schoenchen Third 
Degree Knights of Columbus Council #4166, and the Bishop Cunningham 
Fourth Degree Assembly #282.&nbsp; He loved bowling, playing in many card 
clubs and dancing with Marie, and the extensive traveling they did 
together.Survivors include his son: Steven 
Dechant and wife Mary Kay of Hutchinson, three daughters: Debra Rippe of
 Aurora, CO, Judith Kisner and husband Mark of Sugar Land, TX, and Glori
 Dechant of Olathe, twelve grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 
numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his 
parents, wife Marie, son-in-law: Ron Rippe, grandson: Kenon Lane Rippe, 
three brothers: William, Gene, and Richard Dechant, and seven sisters: 
Josephine Legleiter, Alice Legleiter, Marcella Zimmerman, Adeline 
Zimmerman, Eleanor King, Stella VonFeldt, and Mabel Riedel.Mass of Christian Burial will be at 
10:00 am on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church 
with Fr. Richard Daise officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow in St Joseph 
Cemetery.&nbsp; Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 on Friday and from
 9:00 am until 9:45 on Saturday, all at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral 
Home.&nbsp; The Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus will stand honor guard from
 5:30 pm until 6:30, a vigil service will be at 6:30, followed by a 
combined Third and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus rosary, all on

Tony Herman

Joyce Ann Calkins Sprecker was born on April 7, 1933, at Tescott, 
Kansas. Her parents were Melvin and Esther Calkins. She has a younger 
sister, Delores Gould, Salina, KS.

Joyce graduated from Salina High School May 1951. She 
graduated from Brown-Mackie School of Business, Salina, in 1952 and 
worked for the Salina School System as a secretary for the Director of 
Elementary Education and later for the Director of Secondary Education.

She also attended Central Bible Institute and Seminary in Springfield, Missouri, 1953-1954.

In October 1955, Joyce came to Goodland, Kansas, and was involved with 
radio and television for nine years working at KLOE, formerly KWGB and 
KBLR in Goodland, then at KSAL in Salina, Kansas. At both KBLR and KSAL,&nbsp; she was a host for a homemaker’s call-in program which she enjoyed.

Joyce was active in children’s and youth work in the First Assembly 
of God Church, Salina, Kansas, from the age of 13 on. After arriving in 
Goodland, she was active in the music an in outreach ministries of 
Calvary Gospel Church. After her marriage, she was in the music ministry
 at the Pilgrim Holiness Church until their move to Salina, Kansas in 
1962 for two years. After their move back to Sherman County and to the 
family farm, the Spreckers attended the Burlington Assembly of God 
Church. After retirement and the move to Goodland, they once again 
attended Calvary Gospel.

Joyce and David Sprecker were married on April 6, 1958. David and 
Joyce were involved with the family farm South of Ruleton and Kanorado 
until retirement March 1995 when they moved to 610 Arcade, Goodland, 
Kansas.

Joyce loved children’s work and as soon as their three boys were in 
school, became a volunteer classroom teacher’s aide in the USD 352 
Goodland. Before beginning her employment in the School Administration 
Office in 1984, she had accumulated over 9,000 hours of volunteer 
classroom work. She received state recognition of her work as a “Special
 Friend of Education."

Joyce retired from the School Administration Building in April&nbsp;1996. 
She enjoyed retirement pursuing her own personal hobbies that had been 
postponed for many years, reading, sewing, quilting, knitting and 
cooking.

Joyce was preceded in death by her father, mother, sister and infant 
daughter. Surviving family includes&nbsp;her husband David, three sons, David
 Jr. (Katherine), Americus, Kansas, Richard (Lori), San Marcos, Texas, 
James (Debbie) of Underwood, IA., nine grandchildren and eleven great 
grandchildren.

Lloyd L. Minkler

Ronald Claude Bell was born on March 22, 1940, in St. Francis, KS, and 
was raised on the family farm two miles east of McDonald. He was the 
second of three children born to Loren “Claude” and Marie Appel Bell. 
Ron died on February 12, 2023, at Prairie Senior Nursing Home, Colby, 
KS, at the age of 82. 
Ron attended McDonald grade school and graduated from McDonald High 
School in 1958. He attended Kansas State University and graduated Magna 
Cum Laude with a degree in Electrical Engineering, class of 1962. 
Ron and Cheryl “Cherry” met at Camp Id-Ra-Ha-Je in 1962. Ron and Cherry 
were married at the Pleasant Home Church north of Edson on March 17, 
1963, amidst Ron’s move from Los Angeles to New York. The move to New 
York was their honeymoon. They were married 59 years. 
Ron started his career with an offer to work for North American Aviation
 before graduation from KSU. His work for them would include his work on
 inertial navigation systems of the Polaris Submarines in the Brooklyn 
Naval Shipyard in New York. Ron and Cherry moved back to the family farm
 in 1965, when they learned Cherry was pregnant with their first child 
and Ron decided that New York was no place to raise children. They 
started their family seven miles south of McDonald and had three sons, 
Charles Jay, James Ronald and Robert Claude Bell. 
Ron was a man of many talents. Ron received his love of flying from his 
father, Claude. He learned to fly an airplane by instrument at the age 
of 7, before he could look over the panel of the plane. He learned and 
developed his love of woodworking when the family hired a carpenter to 
build a new home on the farmstead when he was 13. 
Education and innovation were core values for Ron. Passing on his 
knowledge to his boys was very important to him and the skills he taught
 them set them up for their lives’ work. He spent approximately 10 years
 serving on the McDonald School Board. He also had a devotion for 
serving his community through health care volunteering. He sat on the 
Atwood hospital board for 17 years, volunteered as an EMT in McDonald 
for approximately 30 years, and acted as an EMT training officer during 
many of those years. 
Preceding Ron in death were his parents, Claude and Marie Bell, and his 
brother, Charles. Surviving family members are his wife, Cherry; sons 
Charles, James, and wife Debbie, Robert, and wife Mindy; grandchildren, 
Tilyn and Selah Bell, and Daniel and Kristen Bell; his sister, Mary 
Herbel; and nieces and nephews, Loren Senior, and wife Amy, Mollie, and 
her husband Brian Rall, and Marie Herbel, as well as many great nieces 
and nephews. 
A few words on paper cannot begin to tell the life of Ron or what he 
meant to many people, but we know he left a great void that cannot be 
filled. His laughter was contagious, and his sense of humor brightened 
the day of everyone he came into contact with. He will be missed by all 
those whose lives he touched. 
A Memorial Service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 
2023, at the Federated Church of McDonald, with burial in Grace 
Cemetery, McDonald.

Ronald Claude Bell 

William A. “Bill” Wilson, 85, died February 13, 2023, at The 
University of Kansas Hospital, Great Bend Campus.&nbsp; He was born August 
31, 1937, in Yates Center, Kansas, the son of Roscoe C. and Margaret D. 
(White) Wilson.&nbsp; Bill graduated from Yates Center High School in 1955, 
where he excelled in school and football as an end, wide receiver, and 
kicker. He received his bachelor’s degree in physics and education from 
Baker University in 1959, where he was a member and House Manager of the
 Delta Tau Delta fraternity. Bill later completed his master's at Fort 
Hays State College.&nbsp;

A lifetime educator, Bill taught science and math and coached in 
Courtland, Kansas, where he met the love of his life. &nbsp;On December 23, 
1962, he married Linda M. Joerg in Courtland, Kansas.&nbsp; Together they 
moved to Bird City, where they were blessed with two daughters. Bill 
continued to teach high school physics, math, and computing, and coached
 at Bird City and later moved to Otis-Bison High School. In 1970, Bill 
took the job as the High School Principal at Claflin, where he also 
taught physics and computing, staying for 18 years.&nbsp; He later served as 
both the Principal and Superintendent at Palco for five years before 
returning to Claflin as Superintendent.&nbsp; In 2000 he retired from the La 
Crosse School District, where he had been Superintendent for three 
years.&nbsp;

Bill retired in Claflin, where he spent much time at the golf course 
and as a member of the Claflin Golf Club. He maintained the course there
 for several years. He was an avid hunter with his beloved Vizsla dogs 
and knew every corner of Cheyenne Bottoms, where he took his daughters 
to observe and learn about birds. He enjoyed watching songbirds at his 
bird feeders. In retirement he found ways to continue to support many 
area athletes, especially those that shared his love of golf. He built 
numerous sets of customized golf clubs, giving several sets to student 
athletes. He also reloaded shotgun and rifle shells for his friends. 
Bill was a member of the Claflin United Methodist Church.

Bill is survived by his daughters; Shari L. Wilson and husband Chris 
Steineger of Kansas City, and Dana Sheppard and husband Randy of Lyons; a
 brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Janie Wilson of Asheville, North 
Carolina; a cousin, Nadine Charlsen, of Asheville, North Carolina; five 
grandchildren, Austin Ferguson, Dalton Ferguson, Caitlin Medrud and 
husband Brandon, Kimberlee Sheppard and Dustin Sheppard; and seven 
great-grandchildren, Aiden Ferguson, Kingston Medrud, Avery Ferguson, 
Linda Ferguson, Elijah Aruya, Ryder Larcade, and Vivian Medrud; and many
 beloved friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a great grandson, Wilson Wagner.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2023, with 
family to greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 20, 
2023, at Pleasant View Claflin Cemetery, with Pastor Diana Webster 
presiding.
