Driver dies after semi crash, fire on Interstate 70

SHERMAN COUNTY—One person died in an accident just after 3:30p.m. Wednesday in Sherman County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2016 Freightliner semi driven by Eskandar Farhadiyeh, 50, Colorado Springs, Co., was west bound on Interstate 70 five miles east of Goodland.

The vehicle left the roadway to the right, entered the north ditch, rolled and caught fire.

Farhadiyeh was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to Coomes mortuary. He was properly restrained, according to the KHP.
