Russell Livestock to host Kansas Auctioneers Competition Oct. 22

Russell Livestock, LLC, will host the 13th annual  Kansas Auctioneer’s Association Livestock Market Auctioneers Competition on Thursday, October 22, 2020. Auction time is 11 a.m. with competition starting at 1 p.m. 

The KAA and Russell Livestock, LLC, are looking forward to a great competition with entries from across Kansas.

Contestants must be sponsored by a Kansas livestock market.

Past winners include Charly Cummings (2011 World Champion), Lynn Langvardt, 3-Time World Qualifier, Brian Little (2-time World Reserve), Blaine Lotz (2014 World Champion), Mike Bailey (3-time World Qualifier), Justin Banzhaf, Neil Bouray Qualifier, Russell Sleep, World Runner-up and 2019 World Champion, Ethan Schuette (2018 KAA Champion), and Kyle Layman, Rookie of Year in World Contest 2016.

Contestants are judged with the same criteria used in hiring an auctioneer including: voice quality, chant, clarity, bid catching ability and execution of the auction and buyer/seller relations. A qualified three judge panel will be utilized to determine placings during an actual, live cattle auction.

Kansas is rich in quality livestock auctioneers as attested by former champions with two world champions and numerous world top qualifiers.

Brandon Hamel, 12th Kansas Competition Winner, will serve as emcee.

The Kansas Auctioneers Association and Russell Livestock, LLC, would like to extend an invitation to everyone to attend on Thursday, October 22, 2020, to hear and see some of the best auctioneers Kansas has to offer.
