SEDGWICK COUNTY —Three people avoided injured in a small plane incident just before 1p.m. Wednesday in Wichita.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a fixed-wing single-engine Cessna 210 piloted by Lee S. McLeod, 42, Anaheim, California, departed Eisenhower Airport.

The aircraft experienced power failure, according to airport officials. The cotrol tower reported seeing smoke coming from the engine.

The aircraft went down in a field north of the east airport runway. McLeod and two passengers from Kansas were not injured. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
