Home damaged, vehicles destroyed in rural Kansas fire

HARVEY COUNTY —Investigators are working to determine the cause of a fire at a home in rural Harvey County.

On Tuesday morning, crews from Newton and city of Walton responded to a house and vehicle fire in Walton, according to a social media report from Newton Fire and EMS.

The house had significant damage, and two vehicles burned. No occupants, pets, or firefighters were injured. Division Chief 135 and the State Fire Marshall's office are in charge of the investigation.

Newton Fire thanked responders, including the Harvey County Sheriff's Office, Hesston Fire/EMS, and Whitewater River Consolidated Fire District.
